Today's "Ball" selection is by Italian painter Ulisse Caputo. In this handsomely furnished interior scene the viewer is presented a woman posing in a curious manner, as if she were arroused. Judging by this, she must have had quite an evening at the ball. I must admit, though the colors and use of shadow are sufficient, this isn't one of the more impressive paintings I've shared.
I'm more intrigued with what might have been artist's intentions for this piece, whether he meant to titillate his audience and if our vantage point is that of another person occupying the room with her.
