Frank William Topham - Preparing for the Festival

The party isn’t going to decorate itself. Today’s “Ball” selection is by English artist Frank William Topham. In this scene a group of subjects are picking flowers and hanging garlands for the upcoming festival. This work tenderly observes their contribution to the event. What would the festival be without these folks lending a small amount of their time to creating and putting up some decorations? It’s the sort of thing which some of the festival attendees will take for granted as they indulge in the event’s entertainment, food, and wine.
