Ennio Morricone - Red Sonja (1985)

Though peplum films full out of popularity in the late 60s, the widely successful 1982 movie 'Conan the Barbarian' effectively renewed interest in the genre, leading to many sword-and-sandal features throughout the 80s. One of those films was 1985's 'Red Sonja', which included Arnold Schwarzenegger from 'Conan' fame.

The score for 'Red Sonja' by Ennio Morricone is fantastic. What can I say, Morricone rarely disappoints. His use of melody and masterful compositions command your attention. To the best of my knowledge, Morricone didn't score any of the 60s era peplum films, so it's interesting to hear his contribution to the genre in later works like 'Sonja'.
