Angelo Francesco Lavagnino - The Last Days of Pompeii (1959)

I associate composer Angelo Francesco Lavagnino with his soundtracks for spaghetti westerns and 60s sci-fi, however he scored an impressive numbers of peplums as well. His title for the 1959 film 'The Last Days of Pompeii' has grand epic feel which suits the material. In the 2009 Quentin Tarantino movie 'Inglorious Basterds', this piece was repurposed for 'Nation's Pride', the fictional Nazi-propaganda film which plays a major role in the story.

The Last Days of Pompeii (Title)

The trailer for 'Last Days of Pompeii' plays like an exploitation film operated under the guise of a historical epic. Remember that for later.
