Norman Rockwell - The Window Washer (1960)

Here we observe a young secretary dutifying taking down a letter in shorthand for her boss. She finds herself momentarily distracted by this window washer giving her a hilarious wink from outside. Well then. Let us both get back to work, shall we?

I love Rockwell's rendering of the scene, providing just enough detail of the office that it doesn't distract from the action.

I'm also intrigued by how she's gazing up toward the man, as of she were stuck in a classroom and watching the other kids enjoying recess right outside her window. Perhaps this silly window washer provides some amusement in her otherwise dull workday.
