Charles Haigh-Wood - The Patient Competitors

I am to assume that the title refers to our two gentlemen seated beside their female companion, each of them competing for her attention as she tends to her sewing. I imagine she's fully aware of this predicament and is either flattered or annoyed--or possibly both. The two fellas are definitely demonstrating patience, keeping themselves at a marginal distance as she works, but just because they aren't physically aggressive or invading her space doesn't mean they're welcome to perch themselves at her side either. Consider that the young woman might not be in the position to request that her prospective suitors take their competition elsewhere. Such a request might be considered rude, or against the will of her family. Who knows.

That aside, the gentleman on the left has a nice pair of boots, though I'm also taken by the other guy's affection for the cat. Decisions, decisions.
